So I can't read a calendar and I did today's word yesterday so today's post is yesterday's word. The good news is that I have even more to write about hold today.
Yesterday I went to my city's annual Greek festival with my sister and there was such an ease with spending the day with her. I want to hold on to the memories of days like that, of being with someone who I can totally be myself with and feel accepted.
Today I spent the afternoon with my sister and my mom, just doing simple things like eating lunch and shopping. I want to hold on to those memories too. Nothing special, just a day spent together.
So often we feel like we need things to hold: a new purse, the steering wheel of the best car, the keys to a house in the hottest neighborhood. But those things aren't what's important. People and the memories that I make are what I want to hold on to. Those are the things that I can count on and that will bring me more happiness than things I pay money for. My plan is to hold on to all the memories I can.
