Willing - such a simple word but so full of power.
If I want to be a successful blogger, I must be willing to re-prioritize my life and spend more time writing. I also must be willing to let more people than the Five Minute Friday bloggers know about my website.
If I want a different life, I must be willing to get off my couch and get it. If I want to have lunch with friends, I must be willing to make that call and schedule it instead of trying to will it into happening by waiting for them to call me.
If I want a clean house, I must be willing to do the work. Same goes for the repairs that need to be made. Making lists in a notebook won't get it done, I need to be willing to put myself on a budget and put the money into my house.
If I want to lose those pounds that I've put back on, I must be willing to control my portions and watch what I eat. If I want to be a runner, I must be willing to lace up those shoes and hit the pavement.
If I want the beauty, I must be willing to give up the ashes. I can't keep holding on to the past, I must be willing to let it go and move forward to the future.
If I want a pure heart, I must be willing to forgive those who have hurt me.
If I want to believe I am wonderfully made, I must be willing to believe God's word.
If I want to believe that God has a plan for me, I must be willing to let go of the control I'm trying to exercise over my life and believe in his promises.
A better life is out there for me, I must be willing to go out there and get it. And I must be willing to trust in the God who wants me to have that better life and be willing to think that His life could be so much better than the old expectations for my life that I'm so desperately holding on to.
Willing - such a simple word but how wonderful a transformation it can bring.
Ok, who've you been talking to? Who's been telling my secrets? Who's been reading through the list in my mind that I haven't written down and had you list them out one by one in this post? If I had to take one good guess, I would have to say the Holy Spirit has been on the move.
ReplyDeleteBelieve me when I tell you my jaw dropped reading through your post. You hit all of my prayer points. All of them. Our God is an awesome God. And you are awesome in being willing to write down exactly what He put on your heart. Thank you.
I'm Cassandra, by the way from Renaissance Women. I followed you on this weeks Five Minute Friday.
God Bless and have a great week.
Thank you Cassandra for your kind words. I'm so glad my post spoke to you and I'm so glad I've found a kindred spirit!
