The photo above is what I picture when I think of "Calling", a heavenly inspiration of divine proportions that let's you know what you are supposed to do. I keep searching for that in my life but so far, there have been no burning bushes. The closest I've come is starting my charcoal grill too close to my roses. So for lack of a Moses moment, I have to go with what nags at me - you should be writing on your blog. It's the feeling that hits me when I look at my inbox and see all of the blog posts I've subscribed to. It is confirmed in the joy I feel when I do sit down and write. And it is the ache in me that wishes I could help people heal broken hearts like mine.
For the next 31 days, I'm going to do my best to honor that calling and write. Since I haven't come up with something that speaks to me as a theme, I'm going to push myself out of a comfort zone and write on the Five-Minute Free Writes topics. For the past couple of years I've come up with a theme and earlier in the year I came up with a really easy theme (which I may save for the month of December) but I've decided to pick over the ledge at what scares me and take a chance on finding my voice through the topics chosen by FMF bloggers.
Maybe by October 31, I will have my burning bush moment, if for no other reason than these next 31 days light a fire in me to take action on that nagging feeling and answer the call to write.
You do have a calling to write and I'm glad to have stumbled onto your blog. I've read several posts...Marriage, Divorce, Leaving, Cleaning Your House, Being Good While Working A Job You Didn't Like...not exact titles, but you get the idea. You write well and I look forward to reading more. I'm a new blogger with little confidence in my writing, but I'm going to attempt the 31 day challenge and encourage women in difficult marriages. It sounds like you are finding true healing from your divorce and it warmed my heart to read just a snippet of your journey working through all of that. God bless you...you are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Genny - I can't tell you what your kind words mean to me! Good luck as you take on the 31 day challenge!
